illness coincides with the ridiculously tantalizing TCM '31 days' marathon of the best films. hitchcock mania?
anywhoo, the birds, psycho and rear window. the later is one of my fave films; the humor crisp, the suspense gripping, the fashion haute, the story riveting and the relationships real. hitchcock's putting us under a microscope and quite literally dissecting us. i love grace kelly in this dress(pictured)
in addition the the master's cannon, i've enjoyed, the lion in winter(oh the drama), lawrence of arabia, my fair lady(another fave of mine), on the waterfront, the last voyage, batman (which is aging poorly in it's silliness, but too memorable to forget) and others i've had to turn away so i could sleep.
do not tempt me with west side story at 3am! are you mad?! people need to sleep.
all the while, i'm restocking my library in iTunes which was partially complete when the lacie external went down. "M" in the back catalogue is a milestone. i still need to get through the back catalogue and then create "best of" lists to stock the various iPods.
'high fidelity' hits too close to home. cusack's adaption addresses areas of relationships you don't like to explore in depth. even now, i didn't realize the dual meaning of 'fidelity' in the title and the many layers it can be interpreted in the story. ha.
