a review:
quite and small but powerful.
it's small enough t fit UNDER my ADC cinema display arch so i have it front and center, not hidden or off to the side.
10.3.8 was released the day i hooked it up?a difference of a week as i needed to get an ADC to DVI converter. anywho, the quirks i could attribute to the upgrade and not the machine.
noticeably a freeze after the install and then a couple restarts to get the P2P networks running again.
i've noticed that a few CDs won't read in the super drive; one of which won't read in my external FW CDwriter but does play in the stereo CD player. so this point is debatable but the CDs not ejecting cleanly is being closely watched.
haven't power used it yet (photoshop/illustrator) but iLife is working excellent. iPhoto '05 is so vastly more solid and faster than it's predecessors.
huge difference in performance all around over my 450MHz cube.
my current set up has the mini as the central point. off shoots include 2 Lacie external FW HD(120 and 250GB) and a FW CDwriter. in addition, a canon i960 for printing, the sound sticks and iSub are my audio out and the aforementioned display.
i've the smaller of the two external HD backing up the essentials off the mini and the larger drive.
performance between all is excellent.
now i must find a proper configuration to include the cube.
until my office grows into more than a station, it is superfluous. but i love it so.
someone also made desktop icons for it too so i added them yesterday.
